James, What a wonderful story of healing. I"m sure Max's casket was unique. I did delete your phone number as you do not want to put a personal number on a public board.
-- Contributed by: MaryBethAdomaitisRecently my son max passed away.I had the opportunity to build his casket. it was an incredible experience it helped me with the grieving and the hard days to follow.I am a carpenter and max was also a carpenter. The casket was exactly what my son would have wanted. We didnt paint or stain the casket instead we had a whole bunch of diffrent colored sharpies on a table next to the casket. Everyone that came to his funeral signed or drew pictures on his casket it was amazing. I dont believe there could hav better way fotrr his friends and family to show there love and suppoort and love for my son.

You may want to contact this person (http://www.custommade.com/search/coffins_caskets.html). They seem to have a lot of information about coffin-building and may be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!
